Storage tips
The quality of our Flevoland garlic guarantees a good taste and many healthy ingredients. Garlic from home! For both properties also applies that our garlic is better than the widely used variant from the supermarket.

Save
We choose not to use preservatives. That is why we offer our garlic for sale from 1 August to 15 February.

Dry dark place: This garlic can then be used until May, sometimes longer. The bag is excellent to hang. Store in a dark, dry place and preferably constantly in temperature. It does not have to be cold, it can be around 15 degrees.

Freezer
If you want to enjoy our delicious garlic all year round, you can peel the garlic loose and put it in freezer bags. Storage in the freezer can take up to 6 months. If you put the toes in the freezer in the period October - December, the taste is optimally preserved. Before use, take your toes from the bag into a cup of warm water. She then goes off. Ideal! No hassle with peelings of the garlic. And if you put the toes in the freezer in Oct Nov Dec, the taste is optimally preserved.

Refrigerator
Garlic should better not be stored in the refrigerator! It is too cool, but especially too humid, and there is too little 'ventilation'.
What can you do when the garlic starts sprouting: If garlic has become very cold, it will grow. The germ comes out. You can then do 2 things. Cutting out the bud and using the toe, there is nothing wrong with that. Or you plant the sprouted toe in the garden or in a pot on the balcony. After a month or two it is a kind of bunching-out, we call that spring-eel, which you can use well in your dishes. We hear from customers that this works very well.
